In the Spotlight
A soliloquy is a speech that reveals the innermost thoughts or feelings of a character in a play. Have you ever felt your school year is similar to a play in which you are the central character?
Imagine you are on a stage playing you at school. In one of the scenes, step away from the other characters and go down to the edge of the stage. The lights darken. Only one spotlight stays on, and it falls on you. You begin to speak directly to the audience about this one scene. You are giving a soliloquy.
To write your soliloquy, analyze your attitude about your subject. How do you feel about it? What specific event happened in regard to your subject? Describe this scene concerning your subject. How did it affect your thoughts and feelings at the time? How does it affect you now? (Instructional Fair resources)
