Interview Guidelines
Yearbook
Yearbook
- E-mail the person you want to interview following the guidelines for appropriate e-mail communications given in your English class. To find that person’s e-mail address, go to the TLC website and click on “staff”.
- In the subject line, write: Yearbook-request for an interview
- Ask the person you want to interview very politely –again, following the guidelines you received- what his or her availability for an interview is. If you want to interview someone who is not at the Chula Vista site, arrange for a phone interview.
- If you want to be able to conduct your interview during class time, make sure you request that time from the person you want to interview. Example: “Would you be available on Tuesday or Thursday anytime between 12:30 and 1:30?” Also, make sure you let that person know that the interview will be about fifteen to twenty minutes long. If you keep it short, the person will be more willing to give you some of his or her valuable time.
- When you conduct your actual interview, remember you are representing the yearbook staff, so make sure your demeanor is polite and professional. Greet the person with a firm handshake, and thank the person for his or her time at the end of the interview.
- I will be communicating with the teachers interviewed for their feedback. Your grade for this assignment will depend on how well you followed all the guidelines provided.
